yes, you're absolutely right... but I'm doing thing a little different for this first meetup because I'm taking over a meetup group that failed to get people to attend the meetups, so I need to make sure that the meetup that get created are ones that the members want to attend. In future I'll simply create meetups, instead of polling everyone by email.

I believe Its important to show members that our events are well attended, otherwise the group will fall apart.
