Introduction

Looking for more time on the snow this coming season. I prefer weekends and long weekend trips. If you are up for organising something now for the season drop me a line and we'll meet up ASAP.

Please tell us something about yourself, level of ski /board etc, some backround, so that people can find out a little about you. This will help members find people they want to go on trips with.

Good boarder, love off-piste, powder, time in the park but I'm bruised and not the idiot out there I once was.

Do you own, or own a share in the accommodation, or earn commission in any way for any events or accommodation you will be advertising to the group or speaking to the group about? If so, please describe.

No but when I go to the States I stay with friends in San Fran and we rent good places cheaply as a group.

Please share with us your favourite websites for finding wicked ski holidays. ( will be shared with the group ) Enter 'none' or 'na' if you don't have any.

I book the parts separate.

  • Ah...for social, check out the "monthly climb" on first friday of a month...that's about as social as it gets unless a party is planned...

  • Best to check out the calendar (www.meetup.com/TheLRC/events/calendar/) - look for trips on weekend days that don't mention "Castle" or "Westway" - these are the away trips. There is one leaving tomorrow: www.meetup.com/TheLRC/events/16068828/ Failing that, 2 in June: www.meetup.com/TheLRC/events/18607861/ and www.meetup.com/TheLRC/events/16547276/ - should get you started! Just sign up in usual way and make sure you contact the organiser for the specified trip if you need to pay. Good luck!

  • Thanks, Alan
thanks for your message re equipment and accommodation. Not 100% sure about accommodation yet: as I;m non my own and not with friends/group. How would beds be allocated?
Also, is there a poss to take the coach for the Jan2-9 trip to Serr-Chavelier? How much would that be, and where does it leave from?
    thanks again
    Chris

  • Hi Graham, I hope that picture with your leg on crutches is an old one and you are getting in shape for next season. A like minded powder fiend, i also spend most of my time off piste- above and beyond. Not sure if you saw the Show, but if you are looking for inspiration for 'more powder', do come along. It's going to be an awesome night of meeting experts and learning in an entertaining way about opportunities that await you. Early bird tickets are available until Oct 1. Hope to see you there.

  • Hi Alan,
Yes, a long weekend to Sweden is definitely possible. The date would be from Friday 14th January until Monday 18th January. You'd need to travel with Norwegian Air. (norwegian.com). 8:30am take off from Gatwick. You could even squeeze in a last bit of skiing on the Monday and opt for a 6:30pm take off from Stockholm on Monday. I need three plus me to run this one. If you have two friends from this meet up group or from outside let me know! Ossy Evelyn. (I'll e mail you with the cost)
